The third edition of the Versilia Yachting Rendez-vous (VYR) opens today in Viareggio. This event will showcase excellent and top-of-the-range boats until Sunday 12 May.
The event will take place along the quays of the Italia and Europa docks and Via Coppino, the city's main thoroughfare for production and a unique case in the world for the concentration of companies linked to pleasure boating, shipbuilding and everything that revolves around yachting.Among the dozens of boats of all sizes on display in the world capital of megayachts during the event, there will also be a world debut. Azimut Benetti Group has in fact chosen VYR 2019 to show the world premiere of the Atlantis 45, which will hit the market next September. The shipyard's entry level is a coupé that takes the stylistic concepts that appeared on her sister Atlantis 51, also present at Viareggio, and makes them available to a wider audience that greatly appreciates size and type. The model it replaces, the Atalntis 43, has sold over 140 units in four years. Marco Valle, CEO of Azimut Yachts: "Our new Atlantis 45 is a perfect boat for the Italian market, which is very interested in products of this size, ideal for use in the Mediterranean. That's why the Versilia Yachting Rendezvous is an excellent context for its launch". There will be nine models from the Italian group moored on the docks at VYR 2019 during these four days, including the Azimut S6 sports coupé and the Azimut Grande 27 Metri fly. In the Benetti area, M/Y "Baya", Delfino 95, M/Y "Good Day", 116 and BS011, units of Classic Supreme 132 will be made available to visitors.Among the small & chic in Viareggio will also be present a very tasty open of the latest generation. The Cranchi E 26Classic, novelty of the 2018-19 season; a 7.85-metre project developed under the creative direction of Christian Grande that continues the renewal of the range produced by the historic Piantedo shipyard. A model capable of mixing modernity and retro flavours to best materialize both the role of daycruiser and that of luxury tender. The iconic Sundeck 580 will also be present at VYR. A shuttle with a distinctive exterior and a completely custom-made interior, built entirely in Italy. Conceived and built to sail for long periods of time, it is designed in category A for oceanic horizons, thanks also to the efficiency of the hull lines which guarantee ample autonomy. One of her strong points is the brightness of her interiors, which enhance the volumes and materials of this yacht built in Ravenna. And among the big names that have created the great tradition of boatyards in the Adriatic at the VYR there will also be Franchini Yacht. One year after the presentation of the first project, Massimo Franchini will be back to present the executive project of MIA 6.3, the 19-metre open yacht that marks the shipyard's production resumption, a large liveable runabout with wide open spaces and over 55 square metres of floor space below deck, capable of a top speed of 34 knots but able to sail at 22 knots with a total consumption of 140 litres per hour, thanks to the two Volvo Penta IPS 950 engines.Last but not least, another historic name in Italian boating, hitherto linked exclusively to sailing, is presenting its first motor project at Viareggio. This is Solaris coming with the Solaris Power 55, a boat designed by Brunello Acampora that in concept terms bears the signature, heralding her return to the nautical world, of Norberto Ferretti. To find out more we'll have to wait until tomorrow, 10th May, when the project will be presented.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
